2026 TORPEDOES

LVE Residents and a limited number of Non-Residents may enroll their swimmer, ages 5 (as of June 15, 2026) - 18 years old. 

NEW 2026 TEAM ELIGIBILITY (LVE & NON-LVE RESIDENTS)

• Ages 8 & Under: To swim 1 pool length (25 meters) EACH of a:
  • recognizable freestyle stroke 25 meters, unassisted, without touching pool bottom
  • recognizable backstroke 25 meters, unassisted, without touching pool bottom
  • freestyle kick with a kickboard 25 meters, unassisted, without touching pool bottom
• Ages 9+: To swim 2 consecutive pool lengths (50 meters) EACH of a:
  • recognizable freestyle stroke 50 meters, unassisted, without touching pool bottom
  • recognizable backstroke 50 meters, unassisted, without touching pool bottom
  • freestyle kick with a kickboard 50 meters, unassisted, without touching pool bottom

NEW 2026 DEVELOPMENTAL ELIGIBILITY (LVE RESIDENTS ONLY)

• Minis (Ages 8 & Under): To swim 1/3 length of pool of a recognizable stroke, unassisted, primarily above water, without stopping or grabbing pool sides or lane lines. Demonstrate ability to put face in water.
• Rookies (Ages 9+): To swim 2/3 length of pool of a recognizable stroke, unassisted, primarily above water, without stopping or grabbing pool sides or lane lines. Demonstrate ability to put face in water.

*GOAL: Developmental swimmers to join the Torpedoes Team before the season ends and to be able to compete in at least 1 team meet.  

• *NEW MINIS PREP: (Ages 11 & under): Swimmers must be comfortable in the water and able to follow directions from the coach.
  • Minis prep is a new program for swimmers who do not yet meet the minis (1/3 length of the pool) or rookies (⅔ length of the pool) requirements. Swimmers must be between age 5 and 11, comfortable in the water, and able to follow directions from the coach. This is a four week program that will meet daily on weekdays. Coaches will focus on fundamentals and building swimming skills. Swimmers will not compete in meets this season and there are no parent volunteer hours required for this group. There are a limited number of spaces for LVE residents only. Placement in the program will be based on evaluation by the coach. Once Minis Prep has reached its capacity, any registered swimmers awaiting evaluation will be refunded.
